If you are not familiar with cannabidiol, neither are a lot of people, we have heard of some of the many benefits this oil can produce but what-what is it exactly.

My blog is about helping people learn more about cannabidiol and the many applications it has for benefiting health and managing everyday pain symptoms that many experience.

So let’s get to it, shall we?

What is Cannabidiol?

Cannabidiol or CBD is an extract from the hemp plant.

Cannabidiol is extracted from certain varieties or strains of cannabis that contain low levels of THC.

Cannabidiol Oil

THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the substance in the marijuana plant that gets you high.

Both THC and CBD oils are therapeutic however, CBD oils do not get you high or intoxicated which is what marijuana is famous for.

CBD oil can actually neutralize the psychoactive effects of THC.

This allows people to receive the health benefits from the oil without the high caused by the cannabis plant itself.

For hundreds of years hemp has been used as a medicinal tonic but in more recent years science has recognized that has more health benefits than originally thought.

With the legalization of Marijuana in many states and countries, there have been more people wanting to know more about CBD oil extract and the possible health benefits the extract can offer.

Pharmaceutical companies have long dominated the health industry and while many of us may have known all along that there has to a better way to improve our health without the harsh side effects caused by pharmaceutical products.

Today there are millions of people who are beginning to realize that there is light at the end of the big pharma companies.

How CBD oil heals

CBD oil contains Cannabinoids what they do is act on the cannabinoid receptors we have in our body.

The cannabinoid system is part of a bigger part of our bodies endocannabinoid system.

Just like our nervous and digestive system manage certain processes like digestion and memory function when the body is not functioning properly our body becomes sick.

What CBD oils does is mimic the bodies natural endocannabinoids which helps relieve the symptoms we suffer from.

What are the benefits of CBD oil?

Since the legalization of marijuana CBD oil has become popular and more people are beginning to use it. As its use increases, we learn more about the benefits and of course potential side effects.

Common uses of CBD oil include:

  • Reduce pain
  • Sooth anxiety
  • Help in the prevention of chronic disease
  • Eliminate depression
  • Improve sleep and eliminate insomnia
  • Treatment of cancer

Besides CBD available in the form of oil you will find hemp extract in the form of tonics, capsules, CBD gummies, edibles juice, and WAX.

CBD Gummies

Deciding on using CBD oils is just a start for most people.

What you should know is that just like there are many different brands of CBD oil there are also different strengths.

Picking the right CBD oil should not have to be frustrating.

But there are some basic guidelines you should follow in order to get the most benefit. Plus you don’t want to spend your money on a low potency CBD oils that will do little to help your condition or vice versa spend on one that’s too potent for your condition.

The below amounts is a basic guideline when in doubt it always best to speak with our doctor for proper guidance.

Did you know that high doses of CBD oil can reduce or cut back on the dosage of opiate pain killers?

The doses of CBD oils vary a lot they can range anywhere between 150mg -1000mg in some cases even higher.

Most CBD companies offer three or four different strength levels:

Higher strength levels work the best for chronic pain.

1000mg CBD oils are used to help people suffering from chronic alcoholism and need something to help reduce cravings when trying to quit drinking or to treat other substance abuse conditions.

It can also be used to treat insomnia anxiety and panic attacks.

400-600mg CBD oils can be used to treat chronic back pain, mild to moderate anxiety, headaches appetite control and ease symptoms of mild joint pain and inflammation.

CBD oils in the 600mg range offer about 15 mg per dose and are taken one or twice a day depending on the condition.

300mg CBD oils is a very low dose and are used to treat mild pain, occasional headaches, stress relief, and mild muscle and joint pain.

150mg is a low strength dose and are used for mild cases of headaches, pain, anxiety and overall health.

These low strength CBD oils are more like a supplement and are ones that are commonly found on Amazon or local health food stores.

These are often used to reduce oxidative stress reduction and even cooking.

I should also mention that low dose CBD oils can also be used for pets to treat symptoms of anxiety

People who have never used CBD oil before should probably start off with the lowest dose.

I say this because everyone will have a different reaction so its best to start with a low dose unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor.

Will CBD oil get you high?

When people thing cannabis the first thing they think of is that it will get you high, but that’s not the way CBD oil works.

It is true that both CBD and THC are found in the Cannabis plant, however, consuming CBD oil by itself will not get you high.

That’s because CBD is the dominant cannabinoid in CBD oil and just one of many enzymes found in the cannabis plant. In other words, it does not have the psychoactive ingredient called Delta-9 which is the chemical that binds to certain in your body that gives you the feeling of being high.

Is CBD oil legal?

In 2018 the U.S federal government made CBD oil legal.

But wait, let’s not get things confused here.

Hemp and marijuana are two different things. On a federal level at least, in the U.S CBD oils are legal while marijuana is not.

Then again this will vary from state to state so of course, there are many different laws to consider in your country as well.

All of our reviews will cover pricing and we will try to be as accurate as we can and tell you what countries a particular product will ship to.
